DECEMBER, 2009 - END OF THE YEAR PERFORMANCES!
Lili ends 2009 first appearing November 30th on Gene Shay's Folk. Show. The show was broadcasted live from the WXPN Studios in Philadelphia. Lili was interviewed and accompanied by Mike Kurman- bass and Rob Schnell- percussion, she also performed 5 songs! An unrehearsed That's All I want From You was requested on the spot by Gene himself and Lili knocked it out of the ball park. A copy of the entire show will be posted on Lilis website in the near future. A few days later, December 2nd, Lili returned to the Sellersville Theater opening once again for the Subdudes. Ironically, the last time Lili performed there was a year ago and she also opened for the Subdudes back then. So, this repeat performance was somewhat different with the majority of the set belonging to Every Second In Between. In spite of the miserable rainy weather, there was a decent turnout and the positive energy inside was more than enough to compensate for all the outside precipitation. Lili has been getting airplay on XM Radio and radio interviews along with reviews of the new CD have been ongoing. Check the concert calendar for the 2010 schedule.

NOVEMEBR 13, 2009 - NEW CD RLEASE SHOW!
This past Tuesday night, Lili had a stellar night of music for her New York CD release show at the Living Room. Lili was accompanied by the wonderful talent of Mike Kurman - bass and Jim Armstrong - percussion. The living Room is a fantastic listening room and the sound system is top notch. What made this show extra special was Lilis guest musician, Gary Schreiner. Gary is a multi-talented composer and Emmy winner and has scored music for movies and commercials. In addition, Gary played chromatic harmonica on Every Second In Between, specifically on Cant Fall Out of Love and duplicated his harmonic solo and then some Tuesday night. The audience was in awe as the song came to life with echoes of Stevie Wonder and Toots Thielemans. Lili did not perform this song in Philadelphia and saved it for her New York audience. Gary later came back on stage as Lili closed the show with The Way Out. Lili and Gary played off each other giving the fans a special treat and a night to cherish. Next stop, Lili will be doing a live radio show for WXPN on Gene Shays Folk show. Sunday November 29th, be sure to tune in and listen for Lilis words and performance between 8:00 and 10:00pm.

WELCOME BACK TO WORLD CAFE! OCTOBER 17TH, 2009

Lili received a welcome back heros reception from her fans at The October 17th World Caf Live show. She has not played her own show since 2007. She has participated in benefits and multi-artists events, but not her show since then. This was booked as a co-bill with her good friend John Conahan. She played to a packed house and the audience was with her from the get go. The sensational John Conahan kicked off the show with his powerful set. The charismatic, always fun, Conahan, who sings and plays keyboards, was accompanied by a trumpet player and drummer and set the mood for a energetic night of music. Lili began her set, like she did at the Tin Angel, with I Dont Need You This Way, which has been getting played on WXPN and WDIY lately. Fans in the audience seem to be already familiar with the new CD as Lili introduced the second song One More Night and someone in the front table shouted out yes! The majority of new material was performed with a few changes. John Conahan once again joined Lili, as did at the Tin Angel, on Thats All I Want From You, George Baileys Lament, So Far Away and the jaw-dropping Wont You Stay. The set ended with an impromptu The Way Out and exploded with John Conahan and his drummer, Charlie Patierno joining Lili, Jim and Mike. Lili received a standing ovation making her return to World Caf Live a perfect night! Check the concert calendar for upcoming shows.

SEPTEMBER 29, 2009 OFFICIAL CD RELEASE
Today is the official CD release date of "Every Second In Between" and reviews are continuing to come in. This great one just posted today by veteran Jazz Journalist, Ken Franckling. Here is the website link: CDs OF NOTE Also posted to Lili's "reviews section."

CD RELEASE SHOW- PACKED HOUSE!
The September 26th CD Release show at Tin Angel had a great turnout with the room filled all the way to the back. Lili premiered the majority of "Every Second In Between" minus one song, "Voyager." That song has a beautiful string section. Hear it in the Discography page. The show was a special night with the fabulous Lizanne Knott opening. Lizanne's support players, Glenn Barratt (guitar) and John Conahan (keyboards) doubled as Lili's special guest musicians. Glenn of course is the brilliant producer of Lili's new CD and John played a key role providing keyboards and arranging some of the songs. Lili kicked off the night with a brand new hidden treasure (not on the CD) titled "Bright Eyes." Then on to "Every Second In Between" accompanied by her bass player and harmony vocals-Mike Kurman, drums/percussion-Jim Armstrong, "I Don't Need You This Way" inspired a sing-along with the audience chiming in on the line: "Forget it, forget it, forget it, for get about it...." With "One More Night" there was a shout of approval from someone in the audience, who apparantly was familiar with the song. "Supposed To Be" was played next followed by the jaw-dropping "That's All I Want From You" with the magic fingers of Conahan on keyboards. The rest of the CD was performed pretty much in order with a sizzling version of "Thin Line" thrown in for good measure and a new version of the rarely played "Won't You Stay" which is on the new CD. On that song Glenn played a high pitch acoustic guitar and again Conahan brought it on keyboards. The audience couldn't contain themselves and began cheering as Lili belted out each verse. After "Goodbye" Lili kicked it into high gear with what had become her official Summer song "Down By the Water." Lili and the band left the stage and the audience wouldn't let up until an encore was delivered. Lili was back on stage with another premiere singing a cappella covering Nina Simone's "Don't Smoke In Bed." For anyone in the Philadelphia area wishing to see a repeat performance or who missed this show, Lili will be performing at World Cafe Live on Saturday October 17th. With John Conahan performing as the co-bill artist and again accompanying Lili on her set along with a few new surprises, this show promises to be a great time! See the concert section for details.

SEPT 16TH- THE 10! SHOW
What a great gig being on TV! Lili accompanied by sidekick, bassist Mike Kurman did a fantastic job performing "Supposed To Be" for the TV cameras and a live studio audience. Everyone at NBC studios in Philadelphia were highly professional and the hosts Bill Henley and Lori Wilson were every bit as sweet and genuine in person as they appear on TV. Lili was interviewed and in round 2 she performed "The Way Out" which will be aired at a later show. Look out for the best of the 10! show which aires after SNL. If you missed the show, you may still be able to view it if you are subscribed to Comcast. Go to your On Demand section and look for "locals" and you can see it for FREE. It should also be posted on the 10 show's website. Try not to miss Lili's CD release show at Tin Angel on Saturday September 26th. Lili promises to pull out all the stops on this one!

MUSIKFEST 2009!
Another great year and wonderful turnout for the August 1st shows at Musikfest. For the second year in a row Lili performed on 2 stages. The 1:30 show was with full band including Mike Kurman- bass, Jim Armstrong- percussion and John DiGiovanni- drums. It was a great mix with Lili's Dream Again drummer and Jim trading blows and making a beautiful noise! The heat and humidity was relentless, but everyone in attendence seemed to be having a great time and Lili once again made quite a few new fans. WDIY's Van Whitmore was on hand to introduce Lili on the 1:30 stage and again at the 5:00 stage.
As the clock ticks it's fastly approaching the completion of Lili's new CD "Every Second In Between." Lili and producer, Glenn Barratt are in the final stages of mixing and the CD will be ready for the September 26th CD Release Show at Tin Angel. See the concert section for details.

HADDON LAKE PARK 7/2/09
Wow, another excellent turnout for last night's Mclaughlin-Norcross Memorial Dell in Haddon Heights, NJ! Longtime legendary Philadelphia DJ, Michael Tearson was the MC. Lili, accompanied by bassist, Mike Kurman opened for legendary blues singer/guitarist John Hammond at this amphitheater. Lili had a great time sharing the stage with John Hammond again. She had opened for him a couple of years ago at the Sellersville Theater. It was wonderful way to kick-off the month of July and the predicted forecast for rain never materialized. Next stop, July 24th at Fuel House Coffee in Vineland, NJ. See the concert section for details.

LONGWOOD GARDENS SOLDOUT SHOW! 6/20/09
Last night's show at Longwood Garden's 1,500 seat amphitheater was sold out! Lili was thrilled to open for music legend, Boz Scaggs on a pleasant, warm night. After the past few weeks of almost daily rain, last night was the perfect night for an outdoor music event. Lili's solo set was well recieved and made for another fantastic June show, after her performance at the wonderful Birchmere in Alexandria. Next stop, Haddon Lake Park on July 1st. See the concert section for details.

BIRCHMERE SOLD OUT! 6/12/09

Lili's debut opening for Michael Franks at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA will go down as one of the top shows so far this year! Lili was accompanied by bassist Mike Kurman performing at a 500 seat sold out venue. The Birchmere staff was top notch professional! Everyone from the booking agent to the house manager, the sound engineers, the food servers and the merchandise crew were all at the top of their game! The audience in Virginia couldn't have been better! The fans were very receptive and made sure they picked up a CD, an autograph and some words with Lili. It was a superb show and Lili hopes she will return in the not too distant future when the new CD comes out.

LILI & ANSEL'S CORNELIA STREET PERFORMANCE! 5/4/09
What a wonderful pairing last night with Lili and Ansel Matthews at the Cornelia Street Cafe! Lili and her former Palmetto Records labelmate and friend, Ansel Matthews performed their hearts out to a packed house. They both performed solo and their music was so complimentary. In most cases the opener is usually there for exposure and not at all connected to the audience. Last night was different and special. Those in attendance got treated to an encore by both the opener and the headlner. What a great night of music! Ansel will be working with Lili again in the near future, hopefully coming to Philadelphia or the surrounding area. Also in attendance was another former Palmetto Records labelmate, Gabriel Dorman! Make sure you check out Gabriel's CD in the discography section with Gabriel and Lili singing dual lead vocals on most songs. Lili's next stop is May 18th as she returns to New York and will perform in the New York Songwriter's Circle at the Bitter End. Check the concert section for details.

SOLD OUT AT PERKINS! 4/25/09
Just when I thought Lilis show couldnt get any better than Gild Hall and The PSALM, last nights performance at the Perkins Center For The Arts in Moorestown, NJ took the show to a new level. This was Lilis return after a 3 year absence. The music was tighter than ever. On The Run never sounded better and the new music from the forthcoming CD was simply stunning. This was another stellar night as An evening with Lili Ael featuring Mike Kurman on bass and Jim Armstrong on percussion. The place was packed and the environment lent for a perfect listening room with 2 sets and a break in between. The audience was with Lili all the way and cheered for an encore at the end of the last song. Lili and her bandmates came back with the appropriate summer song Down By The Water. The good folks at Perkins loved Lilis performance in this 3 piece configuration and promised to have her back sooner than later. Stay tuned as Lili hopes to finally get the new CD completed. Some studio scheduling conflicts has partially been the cause of the delay, but progress seems to be getting underway.

DOES ANYONE READ ITALIAN? 4/20/09
Lilis receives yet another review for "Life Or Death." This time in the Italian publication "MusicLetter". We can make out some of the usual bio background and the rating is 8 out of 10, but everything is a blur. If there's anyone out there who's fluent in Italian and can give a word for translation, it would be much appreciated. The full review is posted in the reviews section.

THE PSALM 4/18/09
Lilis performance last night at the PSALM Salon can probably come close to or even tie with the Arden Gild show in February. What a fantastic listening room! Talk about great sound systems! It was a pleasant surprise to hear the type of dynamics that you would normally expect from a larger venue. The staff there was gracious and professional with snacks and refreshments served to all the guests. The room was filled with nothing but positive energy and is highly recommended for any musicians looking for a wonderful venue to perform in. Street parking was a synch with no meters or parking garage to pay in this lovely Overbrook section of Philadelphia. Lili is sure to make a return date in the not too distant future. Next stop, Perkins Center For the Arts. Check the Concert Section for details.

Another review for Life or Death 3/5/09
Reviews in Europe continue to pour in for "Life Or Death." This is the 10th one so far and it's excellent! It comes from a German website by the name of Melodiva. Once again our friend Andy Ross was kind enough to translate it to English. Check The Reviews Section for the full size page and English Translation.

GILD HALL- BEST SHOW OF 2009! 2/29/09
Although its still early in the year, Lilis Saturday performance last night at Gild Hall in Arden, DE could very well be the best show of 2009! The reason for that is that it was a special evening with Lili putting out a 2 hour plus show consisting of 2 sets in front of a very well attended venue. There were some V.I.P.s in the house including: John Faye from Ike, Mark Rodgers from WSTW and Lili's Dream Again drummer John DiGiovanni. The wonderful staff at the Arden Gild were highly professional, running a tight ship. Joe Del Tufo was on hand to take wonderful photos of the show (images above) along with Tony Kukulich.
